Shabby Chic Altered Projects

I am really all about altering projects and giving something that is plain a whole new look!  When I am at my local thrift shops, I am always out looking for something that is unique and desires a second chance.  The following are just a few that I have altered and transformed into something spectacular!!!

I used Scrapbook Stamp Society's Digi's for these projects, so please be sure to visit www.scrapbookstampsociety.com to purchase these and many more of their digi's.

This digi is one of Morgan Fitzsimons Digi's Cameo 5A!

It's amazing what you can do with copic markers, lace, paint, and just so you know the paper flowers were made by me.  So, I hope you enjoy this great projects that I shared with you today, however, I have one more project that I want to share with you.
Back when I was about 18 there was a thing about straw hats, and I would go to Joann Fabrics pickup these straw hats and decorate them.  Well, 23 years later I couldn't resist the temptation and I brought a simple straw hat only this time I painted the hat with acrylic paint, added flowers, lace, and other embellishments to create a totally Shabby Hat!!!

Hard at Work

Well, its hump day, but it literally feels like its been a super long week.  So, in honor of hump day, I have created a card using Scrapbook Stamp Society's digi "We Can Do It" http://scrapbookstampsociety.com/auction_details.php?name=Digi-Doodle-Download-Stand-Sherri-Baldy-We-Can-Do-it-2&auction_id=102084

I colored the card using both Copic markers.  The cardstock is Real Red by Stampin Up!  It's amazing what you can do with the simplest things such as bling, ribbon, lace, and my favorite flowers.

I hope you enjoy this card!  I know that I have had a busy busy week at the paper!  And this is something that I will use to empower me today, "I Can Do It!!!!

Please be sure to stop by Scrapbook Stamp Society to purchase this digi and check out the new AWESOME digi's available.

Baby Oh Baby!

I have been asked on several occasions if I could make a card for either a baby shower or simply for Baby!  So, to accomodate the lovely Latinas I have created a beautiful card using Graphic 45 Little Darling and Iralamija Digital Vintage Girls Collage.

Now, I love the way the both turned out, but I could not have done it without the products I used.
For my first card I used Beatriz Jennings Vintage Girls digital collage http://www.etsy.com/listing/63402336/vintage-girls-01-collage-digital-images.

CARD 1:

So, what did I used to complete this card?  The recipe is very simple and I think that every touch gave it that Baby oh Baby Look!

RECIPE:
  • Stampin Up Cardstock
  • Graphic 45 Little Darling Paper Collection
  • Want2Scrap Bling
  • Pink Baby Pom Poms
  • Light Pink Seam Binding for the bow
  • Graphic  45 Little Darling Chipboard Tag 2
  • and I couldn't leave out the Paper flowers by Melissa Frances!
  • Spellbinders Scalloped Frame
  • Vintage Girls from Iralamija http://www.etsy.com/listing/63402336/vintage-girls-01-collage-digital-images
CARD 2:

Ok, so if you have a little darling boy, here is a perfect little card for that perfect Little Angel!  I created this card using Kraft cardstock and accents are from Graphic 45 Little Darling Collection.

Recipe:

  • Graphic 45 Little Darling Collection (paper and tag 2 chipboard)
  • Stampin Up Cardstock
  • White Seam Binding
  • Want2Scrap Swirl Pearls
  • Spellbinder

The measurements of the card are 5 x 10".  Next score leaving 2 1/2" on each side of the kraft paper to create the two front folds.  I left about a 1/4" for each layer and adhered using Scotch Quick Dry Glue.  To make the rosettes, I cut out 3 circles of various sizes and the leaves were also hand cut.  I am totally missing my punches right about now!  To finish up the card I used Want 2 Scrap bling and Graphic 45 Little Darling Tag 2, and that gave this card that Baby oh Baby shabby look!

I am a bit behind on my posting, but a lot has to do with the fact that I am in the process of building a house and so that is taking some of my time, but I had to share with you some of my newest creations.  My wonderful husband has been sending me my craft supplies slowly and I have had to replace a lot of them, because during the shipping some of the things came damaged.

Playful Stamps

Playful Stamps

I have taken stamping in a cool and fun way of stamping. I used several cool steps to get these stamping affects. Now it's not something new, but it's something that is fun to do especially when you have cool stamps , heat gun, embossing powder, and some pigment powders!

I really like altering old boxes that I find at the Goodwill or any thriftshop.  These were recycled saved and here is what I created with them.  They went from being super boring to super chic!!! It's amazing what you can create with paint, distressing liquid, stamps, and other cute embellishments.  Awesome way of thinking outside the box!!

Flower Marathon!

So, it's been a flower marathon in my  house, and it has been a totally FUN!  There's something about flowers that reminds you that Spring is in the Air, well at least not for another month, but in my craft room Spring is in the Air.

I like creating flower sprays that can be used for just about any project, whether you want something for your scrapbook page or just for a beautiful box, these flower sprays will sure knock you off your feet.

Tell me what you think?  I love to read the comments.

So, if you take these, you can make

THESE!!!! Aren't they just lovely!!!

TAG YOUR IT!!!

Awesome tags that I made which are 2.5" x 3.5" using Karlas001 goodies that can be purchased at www.etsy.com/shop/karlas001.

Thanksgiving is Over So Bring On...

So, we got over the pressure of Thanksgiving and the guilty feeling of overindulging ourselves with the best foods you can put on a table.

Now that we survived that, lets think about those deals we captured during Black Friday.  I for one can tell you that I totally hate Black Friday, but shocking enough people were opened on Thanksgiving Day.  Whatever happened to family time????  Anyway, neatless to say, I am curious to know how many AWESOME and aMAIzing deals the crafting ladies found on Black Friday???

I know what I want Old DEAR Santa to bring me, but just tell me what is the ONE crafty item that you want this Christmas!!!

What is the one thing that you can't live without this coming NEW CRAFTY Year!  Also what is the ONE thing you did not like from this past year.

I know that this year that I stumbled across some of the best adhesive blings...I mean they are TOTALLY the best!!! I just have to give Want 2 Scrap the Academy Award for best adhesive BLING!  You can totally bling out ALL your projects, and with their amazing prices you can definitely afford to not one but MANY of theses awesome blings.  To see more visit Want 2 Scrap at http://want2scrap.com/store/.  I can't forget about Canvas Corp, whom I can honestly say is SOOOO farout, there is SOOO much you can do with their products.  OH, and let  me not forget about Donna Salazar and her online classes which can be found in her ning site http://donnasalazardesigns.ning.com/, so be sure to check that AWESOME site.

So, when I analzed all my crafty tools and all my crafty things, I must say that I could not forget about the digital images.  I have used various digital images, but I must tell you that are a few that I am a frequent shopper to:  Beatriz with Iralamija on her etsy shop.  These are some of the cutest vintage shabby images that you can totally find.  They go perfectly well with any of your crafty projects this coming year.  So, be sure to visit her etsy store at http://www.etsy.com/shop/iralamijashop.  These are not only darn cute but they are also affordable.

Ok, so I let you in on some of my favorite picks, now let me hear from you.  I will be sure to post more of my GREAT 2012 Picks in the next weeks to come.  Let the count down begin!

Giving Thanks

So, as the year comes to an end and with Thanksgiving just around the corner there are MANY things that I would dearly love to give thanks to.  As we have lost loved ones and have embraced many changes in our family I can certainly say that there is so much that I am thankful for.

Family is something that certainly keeps a strong bond and although it is never easy to say goodbye to loved ones we have embraced it with dear heart.  This year my husband lost both of his grandparents and it wasn't easy for him to say Goodbye, but he is truly holding on to the wonderful memories.

If there is one thing I have learned this year is to keep dear friends very close and to let go of the  things that do us no good.  I have definitely learned alot, not only as a crafter, but as a mother and wife as well.  I have met alot of wonderful people throughout the course of this year and some good and some not so good, but I have learned to take the good, the bad, the ugly.  It does no one any good to hold grudges, so out with the bad and in with the good.

So, WHAT am I thankful of...I am certainly thankful for my Wonderful Loving Husband, my BEAUTIFUL and AMAZING children, my FAMILY, and ALL the WONDERFUL and TALENTED ladies that I have met throught the course of this year.  I have met some of the most amazing women in the craft industry, and I am very thankful for all that we have all shared to together.

I know I have been a bit distant from my crafting passion but I am just taking time to be with family and hoping to start the NEW YEAR with AWESOME creative ideas.

Wishing you all a Wonderful THANKSGIVING!    Happy Holiday's ladies and I hope to see you all again in the beginning of January!

So, I couldn't stop creating today, I really needed a break from the house construction, and I decided to take out my paper and craft things.  In order to get inspired I was totally jamming to Samuel Hernandez "Dios Sabe Lo Que Hace", I love that song!  There is nothing better than being inspired by wonderful Christian music.

I love the way these actually turned out and to create them I used several of Iralamija digital collages.  These are stunning collages that can be used in any craft project, and can be found in her etsy store.

To create this card I used Iralamija Ballerina Digital Collage, Melissa Frances Frame to highlight the gorgeous collage.  The card itself was cut using Spellbinder to give it the Top Note Shape.  I used Want2scrap bling to give it that finishing touch.  I couldn't help but use Want2scrap Butterfly bling to create the butterfly on the right hand corner of the card...definitely  a gorgeous touch.

So, when you don't have all your supplies you try to work with what you have.  I don't have my corner rounders so I had to trace and cut the shape from the spellbinder.  Again I used Iralamija's digital collage.  I created the flower from an old pair of jeans that I cut up to create the jean flower.  It's amazing what you can create with an old pair of jeans.

This card was made using the Graphic 45 Little Darling Collection along with Iralamija Sewing Room Collage.  I topped it all off with some of Want2scrap Bling.

Here's a better shot of the Spellbinder Top Note Card.  I really like what you can create using the Spellbinders!

Thanks for visiting, I hope you enjoyed it!

Layout para Papa

Hola Chicas

Espero que se encuentren bien.  Hoy les traigo un layout para Papa.  En mi caso no he desidido si voy a poner retratos do mi yerno con mis nietas o mi esposo con mis nietas.  LOL  Que escojen ustedes?
